This website is a place to document the little (and sometimes big) things that make running a network simpler. Consider it the lessonns learned about the things in fine print somehere in the admin guide or maybe it just isn’t in the admin manual at all. Some of the best innovation seems to come in the heat of the moment when things are broke and the VP is screaming at you. I call these the ‘oh crap’ moments when the chips are down.

I have more than eight years of experience as a network engineer supporting primarily cisco gear. Like most engineers, I have studied books and been to classes, but I understand that things work differently in the real world than a pristine test lab and I have come to appreciate the little details that never seem to make it into the instruction guides and support documents.

Those little gotchas and tricks are what I hope to chronicle here.
